AKO Evering on MODAY



Intro - On monday we had ako evering. Ako evening is when your family and people see what you have learnt at school and that is what we did but no one family came so it just was the whole of the school Room 4,5,6,7,9 came to the ako evering.




Ako evering was the best. Kids had different work to do like someone did something about cars or like someone did World War 2 or about the lockdown we had and how the vines spreid and more. The learning I did was about jew getting killed by the Nazis or the Hitler , two of them were thinking about them safe because they throw that light hir people were the one that can live and throw that know back hair or dark hair can live. So the Hitler made the law and said all Jew would have to put the Star of David on their arm. But jew would have gotten killed by going to the contenders camp or got killed by getting shot.

cloning vs deextinction

  DNA is the building block of all life, if you unravel a human DNA it can reach to the sun and back 300 times and human 100 trillion chromosomes and 23 sets of sells, 23 from the mum and 23 from the dad which altogether is 46 sells.


What is cloning?

Cloning is when you take DNA from a living thing and make an embryo and implant the embryo into a surrogate mother and it makes a baby. because  they want to find out if they can make more animals and try and play God just to see if it would work. They can use this technology to save threatened or endangered animals. There are some animals that have been cloned like a sheep called Dolly and she was born in 1996 in scotland and died in 2003 and it lived for 6.5 years and OX that has lived for only 2 weeks there is also a Goat that was in China and a horse that was born in 2003. 


What is de-extinction?

De-extinction is when you bring an animal that is already dead back to life. Some bad reasons to bring a dead animal back to life is because it is way to expensive because if you pay for it and waste all your money and the de-extinction doesn’t work then you wasted all your money for no reason and also people should start to think about saving the animals that are threatened and almost dying then trying to save an animal that is already dead.

Athletics 2020

 We had athletics. It was a lot of fun. I came 1st,2st or 3st in  field events but not in the 400 meters reece but it was ok. So in the morning we put up our gazebo and we had to decorate it and stufe and I was in Tripoli.We all walk on to the tack and we all were singing and all made our way to the gazebo and then had a singing competition and the winner for singing was Tobruk then we had field events we had High jump,stands jump,long jump,shot put and more.Then had morning tea After morning tea we had our races.Kids who were 5 went first then 6,7,8 then 5,6,7, and 8 again.Then 9 year old 10,11 and 12 went twice then had lunch and after lunch we had the parents race teachers race and five-year-olds and down race then whoever had the most rubbish in the rubbish bag get an extra 20 points.Then we Announced the winners for athletics and it was Alamein who won the athletics for 2020.And if you don't know what athletics is then take some notes.

Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and race walking.The Track and Field events are divided into 3 broad categories: track events, field events and combined events. The field events are again of two types: jump, and throws.In relay races, there are four runners in each participating team. When the race starts, the runner has to run to his milestone where he has to pass the baton to his teammate and then he will pass on to the next teammate, with the aim of being the first team to finish.so this is all about sports and athletics so at tamaki primary school we have houses there are alamein tobruk benghazi and tripoli at the end of the day we have to go to our group houses to see the win 4th was tripoli 3th was tobruk 2st was benghazi 1st was alamein it was so fun oh let me tell you the thing we did

 So a 12 year old boy named Mahmoud and his parents are fatima and his dad named himself and his sister named hana  and a little brother named waleed and so waleed was watching his TMNT on the T.V and the dad had a watch/phone/money. The taxi-2 rebels jumped in -shot-up-ran away and Waleed was acting like a zombie from the TMNT that was on the T.V. and so Mahmoud and his family moved to syria-turkey-greece but that when hana went missing. And that when the mum went to look for hana. And they are muslim nd they pary 5 times a day and they bend down to breath brain and a mosque Qu’aran. 


Mahmoud and the mum,dad and waleed slept in the plane and slept in the shop in a country named turkey but they walked to turkey and they gave hana away. 


So mahmoud mum used to be a nurse in a war and the dad is an engineer . Mahmoud had no friends when he was growing up but he had one friend named Khalid who defended him. When he was invisible. And so the mum and dad's apartment was damaged. And they live in Aleppo,Syria and they have no way to live but live in a shop or they have to keep on walking to find a place to live in and to find a school for Mahmoud to go and learn about new things and different people.               


And so there was a huge hole in there apartment and mahmoud saw a gery-white clouds from the missile strikes blooming all around. And mahmoud was in shook and he was trying to clear the ringing in his head. 


After mahmoud and his family finish in turkeys they went from turkey to greece, maeedania, serbia, hungary, Austina and to germany but then when mahmoud mum when to look for hana in germany.       


 But when mahmoud was in syria they had syira pouds and mahmoud and his family were thinking about moving to a different so mahmoud mum can give hana away to a different person but whe they were walking mahmoud mum was looking for hana and that when the mum went lokking for hana everywhere and she went to go ask some people if they seen hana or if they seen a little 2 year old walking off somewhere . 


And so mahmoud want to disappear again.

Camp

 MONDAY -- Onto the bus and out of school go I was with Once we got off the bus we all ran to pick our dorms one by one out and into our dorms we wentz. Then we went to the hall to talk about camp rules. Rule one don't break stuff rule two wake up at 7:00 rule three rule four do not go into something that says stop - do not go wait - wait for the teacher to come and go - you can go on it or in it.And the last rule have fun. Then some of us went to walk to the beach. The walk to the beach was tiring and also fun.Then after the beach walk we went to go and set up our rooms. Then some time drawing the day we got to go in the pool probably for 2 hours or 1 hour and a half but it was so fun. Then we went to the gum to have fun. I was sleeping with Kelly and Sherina for one day. Dinner time we had dinner at 5:30pm we had nachos and more. Before we went to sleep we got to watch a movie.The movie was called Avengers but none of us wanted to see it.So we went to bed at 9:00 and Slipped at 11:00.Day 1 DONE


Tuesday -- Wake up at 7:29 but some girls wake up at 5:00am in the morning. All of us went to go and Brush our teeth then went for breakfast at 8:00a.m. we had corn flakes and more for breakfast. After breakfast we all went to the hall for a group meeting about what we are going to do today. We got put into free groups. I was in group 2 my sister hope was in group 3 and my brother Michael in Group 1. Group 1 was first for kayaking. Then Group 2 my group went kayaking and when we had arrested we got to race each other back to the shore Raymond and lopr came first then I can 2nd place and I was by myself in kayaking then the last group which is group 3 went last for kayaking The men that help as was Steve,Matt and Dave. After that we all went to the hall and practiced for the talent show on thursday.Some of the kids wanted to go into the pools but they had to wait for the teacher to come and open the pool gate once the pool gates were open most of us did a bomb and some of us just parts our feet and then our whole body it was freezing cold.After we went into the pools we got out had a shower then had dinner I don't remember what we had for dinner but After that we got to play in the hall. Then I moved to the dorms. I went with mis Ashley,Giamani and Rosie and natika.Then I had to go to bed at 9:00 but we could go to sleep at 11:00.Day 2 DONE



Wednesday -- Good morning said all of the girls. All the girls and I went to brush our teeth and then had breakfast. We had some us tuesday. After that we went to the hall to have a meeting with everyone. We talked about what we were going to do today and mis Ashley told us what we are going to do. We did paddle boarding and all of the group did paddle boarding. My group went 2th the men that did the paddle boarding was Steve,Matt and Dave. Matt and Steve said that I am so good. Then after that I went back to camp and I went to go and do rock climbing and I did it and did about 1 to 3 of the rock climbing. Then I went to go and play at the gum.Then we had lunch at 1:30 after that we went to the hall and some went to the gum and we just had freetime the hole day then it was dinner time after dinner we went to bed but most of the girls went to bed at 11:00 or 11:30. Day 3 DONE


Why all kids should go to a school camp

 School camp is about building whanaungatanga, learning new skills/experiences, building confidence and getting to know new places.


Why should all kids go to a school camp?


Why you should build whanaungatanga. Whanaungatanga is to make new friends or if you already have friends you can learn new things about your friends. Whanaungatanga is helping with things like games, sports and helping your team. I had a team when I was at camp and I made friendships. Knowing their culture and language and getting away from your parents and taking a break from internet/WiFi.  E.G I was in a school camp and I have made new friends and been on the internet for 5 day. For 5 days I found having no internet was ok.

 During camp you get to learn new skills like going on a lullaby. Going Kayaking, Paddle boarding, or learning, beach walk and rock climbing. For example,  I went to camp and I loved the lullaby, rock climbing and Kayaking. Kayaking is going in a boat and having paddles with you to help you move. Rock climbing is when you have a hook connected to you and then you climb and the lullaby is like a boat but longer and skinnier.



You can see some new places and it could be the view, camp is a new place too. E.G when I went to camp a new place was the camp, the view and the beach.

The camp was partially funded by parents and the rest was subsidised 70$pp.
